Ashley Brokenshaw - October Camper of the Month
I am 20 years old and have been over weight my entire life. I was not confident, was negative about everything, and I didn't like going out with friends. I have tried losing weight before but not for the right reason: I have never done it for me or for my future. I needed to do it to make myself happier-not my family or friends, just me. I was told about RBC by someone who hardly knew me. She didn't know how self-conscious I was.
It hasn't been an easy year for me. When I started this journey, I lost my best friend: my grandmother. I knew she was proud of me and I knew I couldn't stop now. With the help of my RBC family and Amanda, I never stopped. My family noticed the difference in me. My mom and dad may not attend RBC, but they support me and push me. Both of my sisters have now started RBC and love it! Thank you Amanda and my RBC family for pushing and believing in me! I could not have done it without this program.
Tammy Mason - October Camper of the Month
"I cannot imagine my life without the fitness routine. I actually thought the first time I participated, that the program would be intimidating, but it was not. Amanda Kelly provides you with guidance and patience and encourages to reach beyond what you think you can't do. I was always athletic, but had reached a point in my in my life, where I was bigger than I had ever been, I could not go up the stairs in my house without being gasping for breath, and I was very unhappy with myself. I was about to pop out of my size 14's. I started camp in February 2015. I could not do a sit up without someone sitting on my feet, I could not run 1 mile, and I had no idea what a burpee was! I am in my 6th camp, now, I have lost 20 inches and over 18lbs, I can do lots of sit ups with no assistance, and I can run a 5K without walking. And boot camp is not just about the exercise, it is about the support and enthusiastic competitiveness of the other members (everyone striving to be their best). Thanks to Rocking Boot camp I have a new outlook on life.

I have learned that eating right is a life long commitment to building the best you! Society is always showing a "quick fix" or "crash diet" but if you want to truly be healthy (not skinny) you have to fuel your body with healthy food and exercise.
I tend to be a people pleaser and am usually motivated by not wanting others to be disappointed in me. This whole journey of getting and staying healthy has helped me to realize that this is for me! This is not for anyone else. When you do things for other people, it usually doesn't last. You have to find the desire and motivation within yourself and know that you are making the choice to make you the best person you can be. Another thing I am working on overcoming, but still struggle with, is loving myself and not comparing my body to others. We are all made differently. I want to be strong and healthy, not skinny.
Julie Irwin - September Camper of the Month
Exercise and eating right was part of my life prior to camp, however my routine was stale it needed a new beginning. With an old injury I felt my ability was limited. Boot camp has changed all of that for me. It has allowed me the chance to experiment with exercise in a way that I would not have done on my own.
What I found at boot camp was a fierce leader and camaraderie of ladies who are all in it together for the very same reason. To know you are surrounded by teammates in your corner, for me it’s been empowering. The encouragement and acceptance are limitless. You’re able to set your own pace while pushing yourself to new levels you didn’t think possible. Some days are tougher than others but that’s when you realize the struggles are worth your time and energy. You can look back at your accomplishments and be proud of the obstacles you have overcome. At this stage of my life this is where I need to be, this is where I belong.
Megan Melvin - August Camper of the Month
Since April 1st she has lost 20 pounds and 19.5 inches. Her story is amazing! She has overcome a lot in her life and I am so proud of what she has accomplished since starting at RBC.
The biggest hurdle in loosing weight is figuring out how to get started. Once you get the hang of healthy diet and exercise, master motivation and surround yourself with with supportive people you will keep going. Never stop being active and seeking the next big challenge (Spartan Race in October =)), it's seriously an amazing feeling that no one can take away from you because you did it and I finally found what works for me and I am not giving up! I have lost about 20 pounds and over 19 inches since April and I am feeling great! Thank you RBC and all you amazing ladies who keep me on my toes everyday!
Amanda Collins - June Camper of the Month
She has lost over 35 pounds and 30 inches along with 3-4 sizes since January. She also hit a personal goal of being able to do a pull up!
"Since starting Rocking Boot Camp I've learned that most things aren't as impossible as they seem (like 200 mountain climbers, 300 sit-ups, 400 push-ups, 500 burpees, sprinting at full speed... And that's all in one workout! Plus countless squats, lunges, knee ups and all kinds of other crazy exercises!) I have also learned that working out is a lot more tolerable and almost enjoyable with this motivating, entertaining group.
I finally found my way on the right path to fitness....after avoiding it for some time! It took a whopping 60 extra pounds and 5 added embarrassing sizes for me to realize that this ain't cute (and it doesn't feel too good). Plus, I refused to buy any more big momma clothes!"
Michelle Trimble - May Camper of the Month!
She has lost 17 pounds, 22 inch's, and 3-4 sizes since starting Rocking Boot Camp! Michelle literally has Adopted the "No Excuses - No Limits Motto" that RBC has in place. She travels with her job weekly, so if she misses she still gets a workout in no matter what . Here is Michelle's own words about RBC. I am super proud of her and she is just one of the many transformations at Rocking Boot Camp.
"I was depressed with the way I looked, the way my clothes fit (I bought my first size 12 pants ) and my energy level was in the dumps! I had gone to a meeting a my boss asked if I wanted to join her for a kick boxing class. I said sure. I had always been fit and I knew I gained some weight but I thought this will be a good start. Well, I could hardly do anything and got winded so quickly. That wasn’t me! I had always exercised off and on but when I looked back it had been a very long time since I consistently exercised and really paid attention to what I was eating. When I bought that size 12 pants it made me realize I needed to get it together! That was the final straw. Nothing fit right and just felt blah!!"
Wanda Broadwell - TWO-Time Camper of the Month
"I would like to tell everyone my experience with Rocking Boot Camp. When I started I was a “fat ass”, as you might say. I started about a year and a half ago, I weighed 238 and had a melt down in Atlanta. Georgia when I took a picture with the Coca-Cola bear. When I got back from my vacation I knew I had to do something about my life, or “fat ass”. After taking my kid to school one morning I noticed a friend exercising with a group of people on the Foley’s Kids Park softball field. The same day I called my friend about Rocking Boot Camp and I started a six-week session. During these six weeks, I noticed that my body was changing and getting smaller.
Now a year later, I am a totally new person. I enjoy exercising and even running 5K runs. I have lost a tremendous amount of weight and I would like to loose more, and through RBC (and my diet) I know I will reach my goals. "The morning begins early, but it has been well worth it! I have been an active member of Rocking Boot Camp since March. I was hesitant at first… thinking I couldn’t do it or I wouldn’t fit in, since I had not participated in working out in this manner in years. But I was wrong. What I found was a dedicated leader and a group of young ladies and women all there for the same reason. To be active, fit, and healthy!!! For me it has been encouraging and up lifting. I am grateful our paths crossed. Now it is the normal way to begin my day.

"I started RBC in May 2014 because two women I go to church with were going and I decided to just try it and see if I could do it. Well it changed my life I have lost 30 pounds and many inches, I have decrease my diabetes medicine , along with coming off a diabetic medicine. I have decreased many of my diabetic numbers, cholesterol, blood pressure. I feel better than I have ever felt but most of all I have been supported by the best women in the world no matter what I am going thru they are all encouraging me at all times. I did my first 5k thinking I would do the 1 mile walk and ended up doing the whole thing and just when I thought I might not make I looked up to find the rest of my group who had finished coming back to walk with me. It felt great. Great to finish , great to be encouraged. So as I start 2015 I am hoping that I can lose some more weight and encourage someone myself.

"Since I started Rocking Boot Camp I sleep much better at night and have fewer hot flashes. I have energy that lasts consistently throughout the day without diet pills which would keep me up at night. This weight/fat loss has been done naturally! Thanks to Amanda’s diet consultation I am not hungry. I eat plenty of food with a lot of protein. It’s amazing how much more fat loss occurs when you eat as opposed to when you starve yourself. I used to drink 4 to 5 diet Mt. Dew’s a day and I don’t even crave them anymore. I am getting muscle definition back without bulking up. My clothes fit so much better! Muffin top is almost gone! I am now a size 8 bottom and can fit into some size 6."
Krystal Korhonen lost 30 POUNDS and 30 INCHES
"Rocking Boot Camp is amazing! The workouts are challenging, fun, and always different. There isn’t a chance you will ever be bored. The people you will meet at Rocking Boot Camp are probably some of the best people to know. They are kind and encouraging when you need a gentle push; yet, they will give out some tough love when you need it. Rocking Boot Camp’s instructor, Amanda Kelly, is also amazing! She helps and supports you; she always has your best interest at heart. The Rocking Boot Camp ladies are wonderful workout buddies and friends. The absolute best part about Rocking Boot Camp is the results. After 3 years of camps, I have lost and kept off a total of 30 pounds and 30 inches.

"I will be 50 years old in a few months. I have been many things in my life; a wife, a mother, a lawyer. But the one title that I have always wanted, but which has remained just beyond my grasp, is that of Athlete. Combining my complete lack of athletic ability with my paralyzing fear of failure, I felt destined to remain a life-long spectator.
In the summer of 2012, once again wanting to get in shape and desperately needing to lose some weight, I started going to boot camp. One warm-up lap around the field, I didn’t know if I was going to die, throw up or both. The workouts are hard. Just when you think you’ve got it whipped, Amanda will throw 10 reps of some crazy, body punishing, muscle shredding exercise at you. And after you’ve done three sets of those, you get to increase the reps to 20!
"Some days you kick the work-outs’ butt, and some days it kicks yours. But that’s ok. Every day is not the same and if you just aren’t feeling it, you take some pride in knowing that you showed up and you’re moving. My new friends from class are at all different fitness levels. Amanda understands that some people are physically incapable of completing some exercises and would never berate you for that. However, there is still that “little” bit of pressure to push yourself just a little bit harder--pressure that eventually gets you to another level.
